Community Forests


General Information

In British Columbia, a community forest can be described as any forestry operation managed by a local government, community group, first nation or community-held corporation for the benefit of the entire community.

Community Forests in the NICCFD

Here is a list of Community Forests in the North Island - Central Coast Forest District (NICCFD):

  • K3H - Issued to Nuxalk First Nation for 20,000 m3/year AAC
  • K3K - Issued to Bella Coola Resource Society for 30,000 m3/year AAC. The Bella Coola Resource Society has signed a management agreement with the Bella Coola Community Forest Corp. to manage the licence for a 10 year period.
