First Nations Program

There are nineteen First Nations who have asserted traditional territories within the North Island – Central Coast Forest District (NICC FD). 

Reporting to the Tenures Officer in Port McNeill, are two full-time First Nations Liaison Officers.  The First Nations Liaison Officers coordinate First Nations participation in strategic and operational forest management planning processes and advise District staff and forest industry representatives on First Nations' matters.
