From downtown Creston, take highway #3 to the east for 5.5km to the junction on the right. Turn right and follow the road for 1.1km to Whimster Road on the left. Take Whimster Road for 0.8km to a gravel road on the left. Turn onto this road, and where the road forks into 3, take the central road. Stay right at the first junction at 0.9km, left at 1.8km, right at 4.0km, and left at 8.8km. When you reach the communications buildings at 10.9km, stay right and drive between the buildings to the last junction; left will take you to the Rim Trail and day-use area, right to the campsite. Note: The road is very steep and very rough in sections; 4wd high clearance vehicle is recommended.

An easily accessible viewpoint of the Creston Valley. The lookout building itself is not accessible to the public as it is still used during fire season. This is primarily a day-use site, but there is one site available for a camper or tent. The Rim Trail starts at this site. Picnic
