Kootenay Lake Forest District Recreation Trail

Access

From downtown Creston,take highway #3 to the east for 5.5 km to the junction on
the right. Turn right and follow the road for 1.1 km to Whimster Road on the left. Take Whimster
road for 0.8 km to a gravel road on the left. Turn onto this road, and where the road forks into 3,
take the central road. Stay right at the first junction at 0,9 km, left at 1.8 km, right at 4.0 km, and left
at 8.8 km. When you reach the communications buildings at 10.9 km, stay right and drive between the
buildings to the last junction; left will take you to the Rim Trail and day-use area, right to
the campsite.

Trail

This trail offers an easy days hike along an open alpine ridge that has spectacular
panoramic views. The trailhead begins at the height of land at the lookout building.
