TenuresThe Kamloops Timber Supply Review sets the Annual Allowable Cut (AAC) for the Timber Supply Area (TSA)- which includes both the Clearwater and Kamloops Districts. The Kamloops TSA covers 2.6 million hectares in the southwestern Interior. The current allowable annual cut for the Kamloops TSA is 2,677,900 cubic metres, effective January 1, 2003. Woodlot Program BC Timber Sales :The BCTS provides opportunities for individuals and firms to purchase Crown timber for their forest industry operations. In 2002 the Small Business Forest Enterprise Program was transformed into the BC Timber Sales. The Kamloops Timber Sales is allocated a total annual cut of about 230,000 cubic meters. The Kamloops Timber Sale Office, or TSO, is the physical
office location in Kamloops and all staff in the entire business area. The BCTS
Kamloops "Business Area" is the entire geographic area comprising the
4 Districts. The Kamloops Field Team are the staff, located in Kamloops, that
manage a portion of the Business Area. 100 Mile, Clearwater and Merritt have field
teams as well, that make up the Kamloops BCTS Business Area. |
