ScalingThe total number of truckloads scaled annually in our district is about 49,000. The total volume is about 2,224,230 cubic metres (includes the Districts Annual Allowable Cut, plus private and First Nations wood, plus timber volume coming into the District from other locations.) The scaling program covers the Kamloops Forest District. We check scale and maintain scaler authorizations for 27 scalers, 6 weigh masters and do site inspections and maintain site authorizations for 6 weigh scale sites and 31 piece scale sites Private Timber:Before logs can be removed from private land, a Timber Mark is required. To apply for a Timber Mark in the Kamloops Forest District, print the Timber Mark Application form, fill it out in full, sign and date the application then either mail or present the original to the: District Manager Once you have successfully applied for and received a timber mark, check the Scale Administration, Mark-Site Designation web site to find a designated scale site for your timber mark. Application to designate Site of Scale. Timber removed from private land will need
to be scaled and the scale site will have to be approved by the Ministry of Forests.
The above Timber Mark Application asks for specific information as to the planned
scale site and is required for a Designation of Scale Site Application to be approved.
