Defined Forest Area Management

Under Defined Forest Area Management (DFAM) , specified licensees and BC Timber Sales (BCTS) will assume a collective responsibility for timber supply analysis and possibly other specified activities within each Timber Supply Area (TSA), in this case the Fort Nelson TSA. Government will continue to set and enforce the standards. In other words, the obligations and opportunities for collaborative forest management within the TSA will reside with the DFAM group.
