The Asserted Traditional Territories in the Campbell River Forest District map is password protected, as some First Nations may view this information to be sensitive and confidential.  If you are a Forest Licensee who requires this information in order to carry out your work you may be eligible for access to this map. Permission will be granted with the condition that the information be used strictly for determining which First Nations to share information (or consult) with for forest planning or other forest management purposes.

Forest Service Road (FSR) Reports

Paterson Main - permanent closure

As of June 15, 2009, two portable bridges will be permanently removed on Paterson Main (see map) to the Burman River. Please be advised that there will be no vehicle access up the Paterson main after the bridge removal.

Fair Harbour & Zeballos FSR

February 6, 2012 7:30 am -

The road is clear with some rough sections.  Road crews are working to improve rough areas of the road.  Reduce speed in work zones.

Drive with caution, carry chains and be prepared for winter driving conditions.

Artlish Road

October 7, 2010  BC Timber Sales has given clearance for light-duty vehicle traffic on Artlish Road.  As with all wilderness roads, drive with caution – various sections are narrow with limited visibility and the road surface is irregular with bumps, dips and rocks that you must pay attention to.

Forest Stewardship and Woodlot Plans

In January 2004, the Government of British Columbia changed how forest management plans are developed and approved.  Under the Forest and Range Practices Act, forest licensees must have authorization from the government before they can harvest timber or build roads on Crown land.  They obtain authorization by submitting a Forest Stewardship Plan (FSP) or a Woodlot Plan.
