Mummery Glacier Trail

Only 3 km long, this trail offers an easy to moderate hike to spectacular moraines at the base of the Mummery Glacier. Once there, visitors may view the toe of the glacier itself, cascading waterfalls and fascinating glacial forged landforms.

For 2 km the trail winds through a beautiful old growth forest composed mostly of western red cedar and western hemlock. Upon reaching the dry creek bed, make your way up the ravine to its beginning. There you will find a bridge spanning Mummery creek. From this point the trail becomes more rugged as its winds its way up lateral moraines, the result of the glacier's grinding advance and retreat through the valley.

The trail ends at exposed bedrock where the glacier once rested. You may even be lucky enough to watch a piece of the glacier 'calve', as sections break off and plummet to the rocks below.
