Goldstream River Canoe Route

This 18 kilometer (2-4 hours) canoe route passes through superb waterfowl and Moose habitat and provides spectacular mountain scenery on each side. The water level of the river fluctuates greatly depending on the season. This fluctuation causes debris to be swept off riverbanks and has potential to create log jams. Care must be taken when approaching any of these log jams or debris piles. The route is rated intermediate due to varying levels of the river. Canoeists are advised to be properly informed about correct river canoeing techniques and safety procedures. It is also advised that users of the canoe route carefully note the take-out location on the river (walk down the trail to the take-out site) due to a series of rapids and falls downstream.
