Questions and Answers - The
following questions and their answers are provided to give
clarification to all proponents regarding certain aspects of this
Invitation to Tender.
Q1.
What do you mean by saying the right of way survey work must be
certified by a registered professional?
Answer: Prior
to the contractor beginning clearing on any 5 km section of road, the
contractor must have a letter on file, signed and sealed by a
professional, stating that the professional personally supervised the
survey work described in the letter and that the work has been carried
out to a professional standard. Note that the requirement is not for a
legal survey. The requirement is that each 5 km section of road
clearing area is delineated with flagging tape, paint or by other
means, in accordance with the specifications in the contract, prior to
clearing beginning.
Q2.
Do you have legal survey documents for the private lands and BC
Hydro right of way?
Answer: A
legal survey map will be provided for the private lands and property
pins can also be easily located. The Exhibit “A” map of the OLTC will
display the location of the BC Hyrdro right-of-way. This
information will also be available through Mapview, IMap or through the
Land and Resource Data Warehouse (LRDW).
Q3.
Are there survey pins for the recreation sites to indicate a
start and end?
Answer: There
are no survey pins for the recreation sites. The Exhibit “A” map of the
OLTC will display the location of the recreation sites. This
information will also be available through Mapview, IMap and through
the Land and Resource Data Warehouse (LRDW).
Q4.
Are there existing corner pins for the start and end of the
woodlot?
Answer: There
are no survey pins for the woodlot. The Exhibit “A” map of the OLTC
will display the location of the woodlot. This information will also be
available through Mapview, IMap and through the Land and Resource Data
Warehouse (LRDW).
Q5.
Does the entire survey have to be completed prior to submitting
the OLTC application?
Answer: No,
the successful bidder should contact the MFR immediately upon the award
of the contract to discuss the OLTC application.
Q6.
Is the In-SCHUCK-ch AIP field located or is the info in shape
file format?
Answer: The
In-SHUCK-ch AIP is not field located, however, the boundary information
will be available in the Exhibit “A” map for the OLTC, through
Mapview, IMap and may also be obtained through the Land and Resource
Data Warehouse (LRDW).
Q7.
For traffic control devices, is the intent to have flag people
working to control traffic while all work including surveying is being
completed?
Answer:
Traffic control must meet the minimum standards of the Occupational
Health and Safety (OHS) Regulation.
