Forest Stewardship Plan approved by District Manager on May 14, 2005. In January 2004 the Government of British Columbia changed how forest management plans are developed and approved. Under the Forest and Range Practices Act, forest licensees must have authorization from the government before they can harvest timber or build roads on Crown land. They obtain authorization by submitting a Forest Stewardship Plan (FSP) for review and approval. If the FSP is approved, the licensee can then apply for permission to build roads or harvest specific areas. A Forest Stewardship Plan was submitted by Lakeside Pacific Forest Products Ltd on October 28, 2004. After a period of review, it was approved by the District Manager on May 14, 2005.
