This FRPA Training Website provides information, recorded presentations and assessments from the Forest and Range Practices Act Training Program. This website is designed for use as a training and support tool for forest, range, and woodlot practitioners to:

Obtain Copies of Instructional Materials

From this website, you can print or view materials online from your workstation. To obtain copies of the instructional materials used in any of the training modules:

  • Go to the corresponding module using the left navigation bar;
  • Locate the required materials;
  • Review any errata for the corresponding module. Errata are posted in the Errata and Clarification section for each module.

Find an Answer to a Question on the FRPA Q&A Website

To find the answer to a question asked on the FRPA Q&A Website:

  • Go to the Q&A tab located in the top banner bar of this site;
  • Use the search criteria to search for your question; and
  • Scroll through the search results and read the questions relevant to your needs.

Find an Answer to a Question in a FRPA Online Session

To find the answer to a question asked in a FRPA Online Session, or to check if a question was asked in a FRPA Online Session:

  • Go to the corresponding module using the left navigation bar;
  • Review the Question Logs for all of the applicable FRPA Online Sessions to identify question(s) of interest. Note the time stamp for the question(s) as listed in the Question Log;
  • Identify and download the corresponding FRPA Online Session(s);
  • Start the FRPA Online Session on your workstation. If this is your first time viewing a FRPA Online Session, you will need to download and install the LearnLinc Player first. The LearnLinc player is a small file that can be obtained free of charge from the FRPA Training Website;
  • Fast forward through the recording to the time stamp corresponding to your question;
  • Play the recording and listen to the answer; and
  • Repeat as necessary for all questions identified.

View Recorded Presentations

To complete the training on any of the Forestry Modules in the Forest and Range Practices Act Training Program, follow the steps listed below. The corresponding Companion Guide, if available, can be downloaded from this site for reference purposes. To obtain the Companion Guide, follow the instructions listed above under "Obtain Copies of Instructional Materials".

Follow the steps listed below to complete any of the Forestry Modules:

  • Identify modules of interest by reviewing the modules listed in the Training Module section of this website. Go to modules of interest using the left navigation bar;
  • Review the training design listed in the section to confirm module is applicable to your needs. The training design includes the learning objectives, target audience, topics, and pre-requisites;
  • Download the Companion Guide and refer to the chapters relevant to the module of interest. The Companion Guide contains material for future reference use. Download Errata and incorporate this into the Companion Guide accordingly;
  • Download the recorded presentations corresponding to the module(s) you wish to take. Download the files contained in the Recorded Presentation section and the corresponding handouts from the Recorded Presentation Handout section;
  • Play the recorded presentations from your workstation using the handouts to follow the presentation. Play the recordings in the sequence listed on the website;
  • Review any errata for the corresponding module. Errata are posted in the Errata and Clarification section for each module;
  • Assess your understanding of the content. Download the FRPA Quiz Show files from the FRPA Quiz Show section of the module. Play the PowerPoint file from your workstation. Note: the files contain two overheads for each question-the first overhead is the question, the second contains the answer.
