BCTS has a commercial orientation and we aim to maximize net revenue subject to meeting the requirements
of our market-based pricing mandate and our overall commitment to safe and sound forest management.
We operate with a net revenue model to better match revenues with costs and to present an accurate
measure of profitability. In striving to increase gross revenue, we seek to maximize the number
of bidders and auction bids for each timber sale by anticipating market demands, designing cost-effective
harvesting opportunities, broadly advertising timber auctions, and providing useful and reliable
information to prospective bidders.
In addition to a corporate-wide service plan, each Business Area develops an annual business plan
with complementary goals and revenue targets. We measure program performance against our business
plans and operate according to the financial and reporting practices established by the provincial
government. We are transparent in our financial activities, contracting and other business practices;
and are accountable for the integrity of our operations and data.
