Messages From CRIT

From time to time, the resolution to an implementation issue presented to CRIT is best achieved through reinforcement of communications.  If a solution to the issue already exists within legislation, policy, guidance, etc. it may be that the issue simply needs to be addressed through appropriate communication to potentially impacted forest professionals.  Many of these communications are captured in CRIT meeting minutes with the membership responsible for communicating the message back to their respective constituents.  However, for significant issues requiring broader communication, CRIT may develop specific messaging documents to assist in communications.  Messaging from CRIT includes;

  1. Based on discussions held at the September 29, 2005 CRIT meeting, a number of key principles and message related to the development of objectives under the Government Actions Regulation were compiled into the document GAR Key Principles.

  2. The CRIT has developed messaging to the Coast Region District Managers promoting the use of planning and practices monitoring to create a team environment for managing coastal forests. The document includes suggested methods to promote efficient monitoring efforts between district & licensees.
  3. New GAR Administration Messaging

    During the November 22, 2007 Coast FRPA Implementation (CRIT) meeting, there was discussion around the issue of Government Actions Regulation (GAR) administrative communications. Based on this discussion, CRIT has developed administration communication recommendations to GAR authorities for the Ministry of Forests and Range, Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Agriculture and Lands and Ministry of Tourism, Sport and the Arts within the Coast Forest Region.

  4. Post FSP Approval Communications Messaging

    At the November 22, 2007 Coast Region FRPA Implementation Team (CRIT) meeting, the topic of post Forest Stewardship Plan (FSP) approval communications was discussed. CRIT acknowledges the importance of maintaining effective and efficient communications with our neighbours and interested parties beyond the FSP approval process. CRIT has endorsed a FSP Communications Message and covering e-mail intended to provide general advice and recommendations on how licensees and government agency staff can manage communications with interested parties during the implementation of a FSP.
