Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations
About Major Projects BC
Major Projects BC should be your first stop for any major natural resource sector project in British Columbia.
The goal of Major Projects BC is to support our clients through the permitting and authorization process. By coordinating the process, better decisions are made with more efficient timelines for a more sustainable future for B.C.
We have a clear set of standards for the process, so that our clients get the same high-quality service, regardless of where the project is located or what type of project it is. It's our job to prioritize government staffing, bundle necessary authorizations and ensure timely communication for each project.
The Major Projects Team
Our team of professionals is located throughout the province and ready to help you make your natural resource sector project a reality.

- Coordinate technical review and comments
What is a Major Project?
Major projects range in scope, scale and complexity, but they typically have a significant capital investment and involve multiple and complex government authorizations.
Once a proponent begins the applications process, the Ministry considers it an ‘active’ project. This does not necessarily mean that work is being done on the ground, it means that the provincial permitting process has been started and that the project is under review.
