Yield Response of Four Forage Grasses to Diffuse Knapweed Density

Contents Menu Density trial plot area

The objectives of this study were to (1) determine the critical threshold diffuse knapweed density at which crop loss is significant for four forage species; (2) to produce a predictive model for the loss in forage for a given density of knapweed; (3) to determine how subsequent years of interference affect the relationship between knapweed density and forage yield; and, (4) to determine which grasses are most competitive with knapweed.
