Sulphur cinquefoil infestation

Some reports indicate that this weed has a fairly wide ecological adaptation, and that its populations may be expanding.

Given the need for information and the general concern over this species in BC, the objectives of this problem analysis were to:

  • synthesize information on the biology, ecology and distribution of sulphur cinquefoil
  • document the current and potential impacts of sulphur cinquefoil in BC's ecosystems
  • determine appropriate management strategies to reduce the negative impacts of sulphur cinquefoil
  • identify gaps in the information on the biology, ecology and management of sulphur cinquefoil and recommend research, monitoring, extension and management activities to address the sulphur cinquefoil problem in BC
