Invasive Alien Plant Program (IAPP) Application Training

Workshops and Regional Plant Identification sessions

Module 2 classroom session in Quesnel

In the Fall of 2007 MFR, in partnership with the Invasive Plant Council of BC (IPC) and Regional Weed Committees, developed and presented a series of hands-on workshops in numerous locations around the province.
These free, one-day workshops were designed to provide participants with key identifying characteristics of local invasive plant species, as well as an overview of the IAPP application, including background information on its development and future.

Module 2 field exercise in Alexis Creek The hands-on component of the session delivered practical experience in the use of the application, from gathering data in the field to entering this data, running reports and displaying information, both in the Data Entry and the Map Display modules.

IAPP Application Training in your Area

Training was delivered from Fort Nelson to Victoria, Prince George to Cranbrook, and dozens of locations in between. IAPP training will continue through 2008, and participants will become familiar with the latest enhancement version 1.6 once it has been released in the spring of 2008.

If you wish to organize or attend an IAPP training session, contact the IPC, your local Weed Committee (see links below), or email the MFR trainer directly to enquire about available times in your area.
